چکیده
ABSTRACT. Rhodamine B (RhB) is one of the prominent dyes discovered to be carcinogenic and mutagenic substance present in ecosystem. Alteration characteristics TiO2 through modification with clay influences behavior some organic molecules at its surface, thus photocatalytic properties. This study investigates degradation RhB using TiO2-activated kaolinite composite (TiO2-AKC). TiO2-AKC was prepared absolute ethanol characterized SEM, EDX, TEM, BET FTIR. The photodegradation room temperature under visible-light studied various time intervals concentration monitored Ultraviolet-Visible spectrophotometer. Characterisation revealed an adequate distribution over AKC enhanced surface area (TiO2-AKC 808 m2g-1, 50.0 20.6 m2g-1) necessary for effective degradation. efficient than sole resulting 99.51% 88.35%, respectively. experimental data analysed zeroth first order kinetics, parabolic diffusion, modified Freundlich model. kinetics conforms TiO2. mechanism fit into model diffusion while best described by model.

Photocatalytic degradation of an azo-dye on TiO2/activated carbon composite material.
A sequential adsorption/photocatalytic regeneration process to remove tartrazine, an azo-dye in aqueous solution, has been investigated. The aim ofthis work was to compare the effectiveness of an adsorbent/photocatalyst composite-TiO2 deposited onto activated carbon (AC) - and a simple mixture of powders of TiO2 and AC in same proportion. The composite was an innovative material as the photocat...
متن کاملNitrogen doped TiO2 for efficient visible light photocatalytic dye degradation
In this study, Nitrogen doped TiO2 photocatalysts were prepared by the sol gel method and physicochemical properties were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (DRS) techniques. The XRD data indicated that the nanoparticles had the same crystals structures as the pure TiO2</su...

In this research, the thin films of N-S doped titanium dioxide (TiO2) were successfully prepared by simple sol-gel method in the presence of tetrabutylorthotitanate as a starting reagent. Furthermore, titanium dioxide (TiO2) was functionalized with thiourea. Furthermore, N-S doped titanium dioxides (NSTO) were fixed on glass balls by glass balls fixed-bed reactor system. Besides, the effect of ...
متن کاملEfficient Photocatalytic Degradation of Rhodamine B Dye by Aligned Arrays of Self-Assembled Hydrogen Titanate Nanotubes
We show that an aligned array of hydrothermally grown, multiwalled hydrogen titanate (H 2 Ti 3 O 7 ) nanotubes—anchored to both faces of a metallic Ti foil—acts as an efficient photocatalyst. We studied the degradation of rhodamine B dye in the presence of the nanostructured photocatalyst under UV irradiation, by monitoring the optical absorption of the dye. Rhodamine B was chosen as a represen...
